Statue of Unity - INDIA (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel) one of the largest in the world.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel is known as the creator of independent India. If it was not for his efforts, the various princely states of India would not have come together. Sardar Patel also worked for the welfare of farmers. To pay tribute to Patel and to honor his contribution to the country, Narendra Modi announced to build a huge statue of this great Indian leader. This announcement was made in 2010 when Narendra Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Statue of Unity: Structure and Design

Sardar Patel is known for his huge structure and elaborate design of the statue. Making this structure very sweaty and hard. Teams of artists, historians and architects were selected to carry on this work. He studied various statues of Sardar Patel installed in different parts of the country. Finally the sculptor Ram Pancham. The design suggested by the carpenter was approved and work began on the construction of this unique statue.


The Statue of Unity is said to be a replica of the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel installed at Ahmedabad International Airport. It is just that this statue is bigger than that. The total height of the statue is 240 meters (with the base). The base for the statue is 58 meters. The statue built on it is situated at an altitude of 182 meters. It is the height of this statue that catches attention. It is the tallest statue in the world.


The Statue of Unity reflects the strong personality of Sardar Patel. In this statue, he is seen wearing a dhoti, his head is lifted and a shawl is draped over his shoulders. Her hands are on her side and she is wearing a pair of sandals. The height of the statue and the weight of other measures have been decided in such a way that it is maintained in the face of adverse climatic conditions. This type of statue can withstand wind up to 220 km per hour. Even on the Richter scale, it may experience 6.5 earthquakes.


Statue of unity movement:

A campaign was launched by the Gujarat government to cooperate in the creation of the Statue of Unity. It was named the Statue of Unity Movement. The Gujarat government got a lot of help from the people through this movement. It urged farmers and artisans to donate their old and used equipment and people came forward to donate them in large numbers. With the help of this movement, up to 135 MT of iron was collected by the year 2016. 109 tons of it was laid to lay the foundation of the Statue of Unity.
